With your student enrolled in a WANIC program, you are now parents/guardians in the Lake Washington School District (LWSD).

If your student is attending a WANIC class located at DigiPen Institute of Technology or Lake Washington Institute of Technology, there are TWO ways you can track your student’s academic progress in their WANIC class: LWSD Skyward and LWSD Canvas.

LWSD Skyward

• Skyward is a student information management system.
• Parent/guardians can access LWSD Skyward Family Access to track their student’s attendance and grades.
• Additionally, report cards are posted to the student's Portfolio at the end of each quarter. NOTE: Reports Cards will not be mailed home, so this is the only way to view/download and save a report card each quarter and semester.

• Quick Steps:

1. Log into LWSD Skyward: https://www.q.wa-k12.net/lkwashSTS
2. Use the username and password you set up when you registered your student into LWSD Skyward, or click “Forgot your Username or Password?” if needed.
3. Next to the House Icon, click the down arrow and select “Family Access”

4. Select the appropriate tile: Attendance, Grading, or Portfolio

5. In Attendance, click the Right Arrow or © to read comments associated with any attendance entry, if available.
6. In Grading, click in the Letter Grade to examine individual assignments, due dates, and more.
7. In Portfolio, click the Down Arrow (to download) or the Eye Icon (to view) the Report Card.

 

LWSD Canvas

• Canvas is a classroom learning space.
• Teachers post assignment information and materials like readings, videos, and website links.
• All parents/guardians have access to Canvas, as observers.
• You can see all the information teachers post, including assignment information and due dates.
• You can see what your students have submitted and see the teachers’ comments or feedback.

• If your student's teacher is not using LWSD Canvas, please contact them directly for access to the tools they are using as needed to support your student.
