Student Login Instructions

As a WANIC student you have Lake Washington School District (LWSD) credentials.

There are two separate logins you will need for your class: LWSD Email and LWSD Skyward.

Be sure to complete both these steps right away:

 

First Step

You must do this first before you can access LWSD Skyward

Set up your LWSD Email – complete all three sub-steps

1.1   In a browser, go to LWSD website: www.lwsd.org, then in the top right corner, click STUDENTS & FAMILIES and from the drop-down menu, under the STUDENTS column select Student Email.

The Sign in window displays:

Enter your LWSD email address: (this custom information is emailed to the student's personal email address submitted on the WANIC application)

Enter your Temporary Password: (this custom information is emailed to the student's personal email address submitted on the WANIC application)

1.2   Reset your password

Passwords must be a minimum of ten characters and be memorized. If a password is written down it must be secure (locked away). Passwords must contain at least one character from each of the following categories:

• Upper case letter (A-Z)
• Lower case letter (a-z)
• Number (0-9)
• Special character (~`! @ # $ % ^ & + = _ - {} ; ’ , . )

Passwords must not contain a common proper name; login ID; email address; initials; first, middle or last name.

These characters cannot be used * [ ] \ | : ? / < >

Remember your LWSD email address and password!

 

1.3   Register your email in the Password Reset Tool
YOU MUST DO THIS STEP NOW!
Click on https://www.lwsd.org/help/password-registration-and-recovery
Click on PASSWORD REGISTRATION.
Sign in with your new LWSD email address and password.

Add one or more backup sign-in methods.
If you forget your password at any time, the system will contact you via one of these sign-in methods to reset your password. If you don’t do this step, you won’t be able to reset your password.
IMPORTANT: Don’t wait to sign up for this self-service password reset tool. It only works if you register your LWSD email address before you need, it!

Second Step:

Set up your LWSD Skyward Account – use this to check your grades

You must have access to your LWSD email, so complete the First Step above before continuing.

2.1   In a browser, go to LWSD website: www.lwsd.org, then in the top right corner, click STUDENTS & FAMILIES and from the drop-down menu, under the STUDENTS column select Student Skyward Access.

Do not enter anything in the Username yet.

Click Forgot your Username or Password?

2.2 Enter your LWSD email address (from Step 1) and click Submit.

IMPORTANT: You cannot use any other email address here.

2.3   Now go back to your LWSD email account and look for an email with your Skyward Login ID information.

It may be in your Junk/SPAM folder.

2.4   Open the email and continue the process to log in to Skyward Student Access

 

Your Skyward username is the same as your LWSD email username – just the first part, don’t include the @lwsd.org

Remember your Skyward username and password!

 

From now on, anytime you need to check your LWSD email or see your grades in LWSD Skyward, start at www.lwsd.org, click on STUDENTS & FAMILIES, and then select Student Email or Student Skyward Access.
